There are in all 10 directions. East belongs to Indira; South – East to Agni; South to Yama; South – West
to Rakshasa; West to Varuna; North – West to Marut or Vayu; North to Kuber; North – East to Ishaana; Downwad to Bramha or Padmaja and Aakash belongs to
Ananta.

Different qualities have been attributed to different Saniyas (qualitative names) of D-10 division. Each dashamsha division is of three degrees each. In
odd signs counting stars from the sign occupied by the Planet itself, whereas in even signs counting starts from the 9th sign from the sign occupied by the
planet.

For identification and meanings of different dashamshas one may see Dashamsha table in the Annexures However from practical point of view I would put
meanings of Dik – paala (Lord of Dashamsha division) deities as under:

Indra:
The word Indra means the lord of gods; the god rain; a lord of ruler, first of best (of any class of objects), always as the first member of an assembly,
a lord of men or king. Intermittently, he remains in fear of loosing his position. Consequently he prays before the trinity of gods: In modern context, it
may mean a person from Head of the Department of organization or Head of the State. He afraid of loosing his position to those, who perform 100 of yognas –
Sukarmas to please ultimate boss to get that position.

The Sun, King in planetary hierarchy, exalted in sign as well as in Indra Dashmamsha is supposed to give prime position during its period.

Agni:
The word Agni means fire; the God of fire; sacrificial fire of three kinds; the fire of the stomach, digestive faculty; Bile; Gold; the number three and a
very bold person. If we see from mundane point of view, it may amount to
working under restriction or in grueling conditions. It may be working along with or under demanding bosses, companions or partners or situations.

Rakshasa:
Rakshasa means belonging to or like an evil spirit, demonical, partaking of a demon’s nature; a demon, an evil spirit, a goblin, friend; one of the eight
forms of marriage in Hindu law, in which a girl is forcibly seized and carried away after the defeat or destruction of her relatives in battle; one of the
astronomical Yogas; name of a minister of Nanda, an important character in the Mudrarakshasha. From Mundane point of view it indicates a person who does
not follow daily routine life as ordained socially works in night, obsessed by success and may be having a high technically sound knowledge.

Varun:
The word Varun is one of the names of Aditya (usually – associated with Mitra); (in late mythology); the regent of the ocean and of the western quarter
(represented with a noose in hand); the ocean; firmament. It is an indicative of a person who has collected many pearls of knowledge and may appear to be
moody like wave of high tide and low tides; may be working in fits and starts.

Vayu:
The word Vayu means air; wind; the god of wind, the deity supposed to preside over wind; a life – wind or vital air, of which five kinds ar enumerated;
morbid affection or vitiation of the windy humor. It indicates a person who moves and acts like wind does not wait for others and sometimes achieves, what
appears to be impossible for others.

Kuber:
It indicates that the native may a lot of money to spend at the command of his own conscious or that of his boss. He is rich, holds money in trust, as
trustee of the family, or the organization where he works.

Ishaan:
The word Ishaan means a ruler, master, lord; name of Shiva; the sun (as a form of Shiva); name of Vishnu. The native is expected to act according to social
norms and addicts, in order to reach great heights in his career by his initiative and drive.

Padmaja:
(Brahma): The word Padmaja is epithet of Brahma, the creater the lotus – born god. The native will have a lot of creative energy but he does not get
appropriate recognition and credit for his creations, due to his indulgence in socially unwarranted and deplorable activities.

Ananta:
The word Ananta means endless, infinite, boundless, inexhaustible; name of Vishnu also of Vishnu’s couch, the serpent Shesha; of Krishna and his brother;
of Shiva; Vasuki, the lord of serpents; a cloud; tale; a silken cord with fourteen knots tied round the right arm on the Anantachaturdasi day.

The native may have endless ideas, Sankalpas, activities, and endless area/ jurisdiction of his activities. His boundless and infinite activities, should
not be allowed to exhaust his inexhaustible energy. However, he gets applause for his activities.

In order to appreciate, how these names worked in actual life situation one may see the chart indicating V.V.I.P and their Dashamsha of Sensitive points,
in the table annexed at the end.

It may be an interesting inference to draw on the basis ar above charts that in case of achievers above six factors name (i) Lagna (ii) Lagna lord (iii) 10 th lord of D-1 (iv) Saturn (v) Lagna lord of D-10 (vi) 10th lord of D-10) should be predominantly in Anant, Brahma, Vayu, Yama, Agni
and Kuber. He should have the qualities of broad vision of Anant, creativity and innovative ideas, of Brahma, initiative and drive of Vayu, self –
restrainst and disciplined quality prescribed by Yama, fire in the bally of Agni to do something outstanding and perseverance of Kuber. This is based on
proportion of 56 factors – Anant 10, Vayu 9 Brahma 9, Yama 6, Agni 5, Kuber 5, Ishan 4, Indra 2, Rakshasa 2, Varun 2.

Dasha sequence of achievers:

In the case of famous persons it has been seen that they get right dashas at the right time to rise to great heights.

Planets in Vargottamamsha, Pushkaramsha, Pushkar Navamsha, in their signs of exaltation and in case of debilitation, its cancellation by two factors, may
prove very helpful in this respect.

Saravali guides us to the principle of planets in Vargottamamsha and attributes good results to them. It further indicates that a planet in its own
drekkana confer virtues while the one in own navamasha makes on famous. Chandra Kala Nadi interalia other thins attributes results of Rajayoga and
enjoyment to planets in Vargottamamsha. Phaladeepika states that planets in Vargottamamsha bestow results as if they were in own signs.

Experience shows that the favourable result of a planet being in Vargottamamsha can only be attained in full if such a planet is in his own or friendly or
exaltation sing. In that case the planet will be known by the name as yogamsha. Ordinarily, in case it is in its sign of debilitation, it
fails to bestow favorable results in its dashas but in the chart of the famous Hindi film actor late Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Jupiter is in neecha Vargottama.
His Venus dasha, Jupiter bhukti conferred the “Sholay” and “Trishul” fame on the native. This gave very good results in general bud did not give Jeeva
Sukha.

We should apply these principles along with other principles. A planet occupying its own saptamamsha bestows and confers courage, wealth and fame. One
becomes devout and helpful if a planet is in its own dwadashamsha. A planet in its own trimshamsha gives happiness and good qualities. When a planet is
expected by a benefic planet, the native becomes wealthy, famous, chief of all, beautiful and happy.

Karaka – wise Interpretation

Let us now take up Karakatwas of different planets for the purpose of D1 and D10.

Jupiter
is said to be the Karaka of wisdom and divine grace for progress and growth in business, profession and service.

Saturn
signifies all types of actions, say Karma.

Mercury
Though some say, signifies generation of wealth through profession yet I feel that Mercury just signifies level of intelligence used in profession.

The Sun
surely signifies power, position and authority gained by the native.

Those who are interested in better results will have to focus one or more of these four Karakas mentioned above – Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury and the Sun and
co-relate them with prevailing dasha, and other divisional charts.

These are many dimensions but space is limited. But with God’s grace what has been mentioned here in above may go a long way to help the learned
astrologers to be more precise and correct in their predictions.

Compiled by Anil Kaushal We believe that all directions have their lords.
