{"id":1170,"date":"2013-07-12T17:25:43","date_gmt":"2013-07-12T11:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/astrogurukul.com\/web\/?p=1170"},"modified":"2013-07-12T17:25:43","modified_gmt":"2013-07-12T11:55:43","slug":"sri-rudram","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/astrogurukul.com\/web\/sri-rudram\/","title":{"rendered":"Sri Rudram"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=iso-8859-1\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dr. Sudhir Batish<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span class=\"style2\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Email: batishsk@gmail.com<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Introduction<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Vedas<\/strong>: Vedas are called Apourusheya <span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: GurbaniHindi;\">ApO{\u00c0X [<\/span> i.e. NOT of human origin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Anaadi- Without beginning in terms of time&#8212; Infinite is Vedas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Great sage Ved Vyasa divided these Vedas into four main branches.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>RIG VEDA<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>YAJUR VEDA <\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>SAM VEDA<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>ATHARVANA VEDA<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As the time passed, the Yajur Veda got further subdivided into:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Krishana Yajur Veda and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shukla Yajur Veda<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Further, each Veda has three portions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Samhitas<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Braahmanas \u00a0and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aranyakas<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Om (A-u-m, the primordial Sound)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pranav, \u00a0from which all the Vedas emerged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sri Rudram, also Known as Rudra prashana, is a hymn devoted to Lord Shiva. It is from chapter 24 of Krishan yajur Veda Taittraya Samhita and is one of the greatestof all the Vedic hymns. Rudram is divided into 11 sections called Anuvakas, Chamakam one of the 11 section of Sri Rudram contains 21 shalokas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Given below are 4 shalokas which are part of chamakam and are recommended to be recited 11 times in the morning and evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Benefit:<\/strong> These hymns of Sri Rudram are for all round benefit and to remove all doshas (blemishes) and difficulties, as they are really potent mantras. They are very good to render protection against evils-effects of Saturn\u2019s transit, bad result of Karmic distributions planet \u2018Rahu\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rules to Recite:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The letters of mantras must be spoken very lucidly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The letters should not be blurred.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The sound shouldn\u2019t Slip \u2013down or fade-out.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The comparison is with a mother tiger carrying its cub. Tigers carry their cubs by their teeth. The cub is held firmly so that it does not slip and fall, but at the same time teeth do not cause any hurt or pain.
